- ... SAFU possesses many of the qualities which are commonly attributed to "natural talent". He is gifted with a heightened sensitivity for color and composition, findng his true artistic dimension in acrylic painting. His artwork, large canvases characterized by what seems like gestural spaces, presents an extremely distorted and rousing figurativism, made up of very fast and instinctively calibrated pictorial passages. The result is very impressive, vibrant and visually powerful images that echo both the early wave of graffiti and the paintings of the 1980s, especially American.
